Registration for Fall 2025

Marquette Choral Society will begin its Fall 2025 season with its first rehearsal and membership sign-up at 7 p.m., Monday, August 25, in the Choral Room in the Thomas Fine Arts Building on the NMU campus.

No audition is required. Members may join August 25, September 8, and September 15. (No rehearsal on Labor Day) Registration starts at 6 p.m., before rehearsal from 7 to 9 p.m. Fees and music costs are $65, cash or check only, please. Some scholarships are available. Choral Society is also available for NMU credit.

This semester’s concerts will be Saturday, December 6, and Sunday, December 7, in the NMU Reynolds Recital Hall and will include featured soloists along with MCS. The concert theme will be “Holiday Classics.” Musicians will perform works by Morten Lauridson, Dobrinka Tabakova, Elaine Hagenberg and Marques L.A. Garrett, as well as the “Hallelujah” chorus and other selections from Part I of Handel’s Messiah.

Marquette Choral Society is a mixed-voice, non-auditioned, adult choir of approximately 100 singers from a four-county region in the Upper Peninsula. MCS strives to engage, enrich, and inspire this region through the art of choral music. The ensemble was founded in 1971 by Dr. William Dehning and is currently led by musical director Dr. Erin Colwitz.
